Rabbit Kekai
The most famous Waikiki beachboy in the world, Rabbit was mentored during the late 1920s as a surfer in the waves of Waikiki by Duke Kahanamoku. He soon began his life-long career as a beachboy. Riding wooden, finless boards, Rabbit essentially developed the art of hotdogging with his performance surfing, such as drop-knee turns and nose riding. A frogman in the South Pacific during World War II, only four of Rabbit’s 12-man platoon survived. He continues to teach surfing at Waikiki.  Rabbit is surfing history.
