Woody Brown
A world-class glider pilot, sailboat designer, and big wave rider, Woody held the soaring world records for distance and altitude in 1938. He designed, built, and skippered the first catamaran in the Western world. In the 1940s, Woody pioneered modern big wave surfing in Hawaii. A journeyman of both the sea and sky, Woody applied his soaring and sailing experience to innovative surfboard designs.
